Farewell UNC...

After 5 years as an Executive Professor at the Monfort College of Business at the University of Northern Colorado, it is time to move on. I had a great experience here learning the fundamentals of teaching college. I had a blast with the Foundations of Business Thought class - studying "old dead people" to see what they have to tell us about modern business. Cal Boardman developed this class at the University of Utah almost 15 years ago. Then he was generous enough to share it with us. Using Cicero and Aristotle to discuss ethics has a certain allure. And watching video clips helps to keep it engaging. I will miss this class - and my co-conspirators Cynthia and Jim who helped make it fun.

Getting Ready...

Things are certainly coming together for my upcoming trip to Bangladesh, India, and Kazakhstan. I never knew that minutia could be so compelling! I think the idea of negotiating a contract with an educational institution in a former Soviet country has me double dipping on bureaucratic overhead! As of today I have sent my passport off to Washington DC for the 3rd time in an attempt to secure my Kazakhstan visa. Oh to have known in advance where I was going so I could have sent it off only once! But that, combined with booking travel for my wife Joyce to meet me in Kazakhstan, has certainly made the trip feel real - finally!
